Humans and animals – this is also a story of domestication. Farm animals, which serve humans and are continuously optimised by them, or the cult of beauty in animal breeds, reveal a relationship between humans and the animal world, nature and, not least, themselves as part of creation that has gone awry. Ehfa Hiltbrunner grew up in the Lucerne hinterland in a large farming family. In the message salon, the artist presents a degenerate animal world in the age of genetic manipulation. Mutants, furry bodies and naked cats populate the art space. The objects made of animal fur tempt you to stroke them, yet make you shudder.
