Both artists live and work in Zurich. Neither artist has been in Switzerland for very long. Sergei Nikokoshev, born in Siberia, Russia, and David Chieppo, born in New Haven, USA, spent several weeks working at the message salon on Rigiplatz, resulting in the experimental exhibition ‘Transitional Report’, in which the different artistic positions are juxtaposed in the space.
Sergei Nikokoshev, artist and stage designer, presents the multimedia installation ‘Oedipo Re. Archiological Research,’ in which painting, video, film, objects and text are condensed into a theatrical production. David Chieppo’s new small-format drawings and paintings, created especially for this exhibition and often based on images from newspapers or magazines, are viewed in the setting of a waiting room. ‘Waiting Room’ is a claustrophobic, melancholic space in a lost time and place.
