Jacob Burckhardt’s profile and the number 1000 were now proudly displayed over Langstrasse in shiny shades of violet: 1000 Swiss francs was the cost of running an ad handpainted by Veli&Amos on the billboard for a week. But it was to remain an open platform: anyone could rent the billboard for 100 francs a day and paint it themselves.”
