Zurich-based artist Urs Lehmann, aka biopop., explores a synthesis of nature and artificiality in his art, drawing on themes such as the Big Bang, evolution, neurology, genetics and microbiology. The artist creates hyperrealistic, fantastical drawings and digital paintings on the drawing board and directly in virtual space using a sensor pen. In the current exhibition at the message salon, a glowing eye leads us into our floating evolutionary past.
The artist Sarah Kreuter, aka unkraut. deals with the decadence of humanity and proliferates as a cultivated plant in the media of film, photography, performance, installation, object and animation. In the message salon, unkraut. projects rushing waves of expectation.
The artist couple unkraut.biopop. also provide an insight into the photo series ‘esperando al toro’ created last summer in Spain: In the dust of Andalusia, they waited for the bull. It never came.
At the end of the exhibition, biopop will read his own poetic, utopian and philosophical texts in a performative reading.
