message salon has been Esther Eppstein’s art project since 1996.
The salon, the meeting of different people in the context of art, the networking of artists from all areas, the framework and the documentation of the events are what Esther Eppstein defines as her art.
message salon
Esther Eppstein opened the message salon art space in Zurich Aussersihl in 1996, which became an important meeting place and influential experimental platform for the Zurich art scene in the following years and without interruption at changing locations – most recently at Kunsthaus Perla-Mode on Langstrasse, until December 2013.
message salon embassy
After a break in Tel-Aviv in 2014, Esther Eppstein aka Madame l’Ambassadeur is expanding her art project into the message salon embassy, a nomadic artist-run artist residency.
Madame l’Ambassadeur takes her artists in residence on an expedition into the Zurich art scene, creating new friendships and networks. message salon embassy publishes a ‘zine’ with the artists in residence – a limited edition publication that is presented as part of a public event.
