18h door / 18.30h talk (in English)

A few weeks ago, message salon embassy artist Daniela Palimariu and Lugano artist Marta Margnetti met at Zurich Nord at the initiative of the art festival Progetto 6000. The festival, meant to showcase young Ticinese artists in Zurich, will have its first edition this spring.

Marta Margnetti will spend Easter on the Hunzikerareal as a guest of message salon embassy, collaborating with Daniela Palimariu.
The artists will exchange ideas at the studio and figure out themes and settings for the artist talk taking place at the end of their week together.

The two are linked not only by common themes – social spaces, sculpture and architecture – in their artistic practice, but also by the fact that they are both co-founders of an artist-run-space, which operates outside the mainstream art market, but which plays an important role in the development of the local scene.

Daniela Palimariu is a co-founder of the Sandwich Gallery in Bucharest, an ambitious art space in a former industrial quarter outside the center of the Rumanian capital. Marta Margnetti is a co-founder of the art space Sonnenstube in the southern Swiss “art province” Lugano.

Curator Gioia Dal Molin will moderate the artist talk. As part of the series Le Foyer-in Process, she moderates artist talks around themes such as artistic process and the existential artistic condition. The talk will be in English.

After the talk, there will be a reception with drinks and Eritrean food courtesy of Freweini Habte. Everyone is invited!
