San Keller is a message salon artist from the very beginning and, among other things, lived in the caravan at the message salon vacation colony in Appenzell in 1998.
As part of the exhibition “Acts of Friendship” at the Migros Museum, Esther Eppstein invites her long-time artist friend San Keller to the caravan to reflect on message salon, friendship, art and photo albums. At the salon table in the caravan they talk and philosophize about artist life, art careers, the nineties, DIY, zeitgeist and the art business … The conversation will be moderated by Nadia Schneider Willen, curator at Migros Museum and visitor of the message salon caravan when it was stationed at Pfingstweidstrasse, Zurich, in 1999.
The conversation in the caravan will be broadcast live on Radio GDS.FM and in the Migros Museum for visitors in front of the caravan, as well as on the Löwenbräu ramp. The radio broadcast can also be received via internet at home or on the go on a smartphone.
Afterwards, Esther Eppstein aka DJ Sistaesta will play the unique caravan set with records from the collection in the message salon caravan, live on the ramp at Löwenbräu and broadcast on Radio GDS.FM.
San Keller, born 1971 in Bern, takes on different roles and positions in the art world as an “artist artist” with a lot of skepticism, self-irony and energy. San Keller is known for his participatory performances, which often seem like social experiments. Since 2017 co-director Bachelor Kunst&Vermittlung HSLuzern (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts), since 2019 member of the Eidgenössische Kunstkommsission (Federal Art Commission).
