The Russian micro-artist group Gorod Ustinov invites you to take a look at its ongoing research into the possibilities of the museum as a participative and situational format, as part of the exhibition series “The message salon Diele”.
At the invitation of message salon embassy, Gorod Ustinov have relocated their studio from Izhevsk to Zurich, into the studio of the 25hours Hotel on Langstrasse, for the duration of one month. In private encounters with Zurich artists in the studio or on the road, in the scene, Gorod Ustinov shared and discussed the idea of the museum as a place of exchange and personal experience.
The encounters in the art scene and the exhibition “Erde der Langstrasse” (‘Earth of Langstrasse’), in the shop window of Die Diele are part of extensive research for Gorod Ustinov’s first large institutional exhibition opening this autumn, currently in preparation at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Perm, Russia.
“Erde der Langstrasse” is a kind of preview on a small scale, an interpretative order and an experimental field around the presentation and en-action of an idea that is constantly expanding and creating new references. For the inauguration of the show window, which will display an installation of found and manufactured artifacts, Gorod Ustinov will offer the audience on Langstrasse the opportunity to expand the exhibition on site and to participate in it.
A publication by Gorod Ustinov will be published at the opening of the exhibition.
