At the end of the first artist residency in the Hunzikerareal, Ninutsa Shatberashvili, Sandro Sulaberidze and Madame l’Ambassadeur invite you to the presentation of the freshly printed publication ‘Pur – Marili / პურ – მარილი’ at the message salon embassy in Zurich Schwamendingen.
In September, Ninutsa Shatberashvili and Sandro Sulaberidze hosted ‘Pur – Marili / პურ – მაარილი’, a Georgian evening in the studio. The numerous guests brought a bottle of wine as an entry fee and enjoyed Georgian food and Georgian hospitality at a long, richly laid table. In addition to cucumber salad with walnut sauce, aubergine rolls with herb paste and pomegranate seeds, bean stew, chicken in tomato-coriander sauce, baked quinces and pumpkins, there were six analogue disposable cameras on the hand-printed tablecloth, with which the guests were invited to take pictures as they pleased during the evening. The resulting photographs form the source material for the message salon embassy Zine No.8.
During their residency, Ninutsa Shatberashvili and Sandro Sulaberidze explored the city and its art scene with Madame l’Ambassadeur, making new acquaintances and talking to people from the art world. In the studio, they experimented with photography, painting and drawing and tackled the experimental construction of an analogue DIY camera, modelled on the eye of an insect with 15,000 lenses. This camera will be on display on the final evening and will raise questions.
After the vernissage, there will be an after-party from 9.30 pm at the Wunderkammer in Glattpark, a five-minute walk from the studio.
