message salon embassy Zürich Nord is a temporary artist residency and art on architect project in Zürich Schwamendingen, in collaboration with the housing coop mehr als wohnen. The attending artists live and work in the mehr als wohnen housing cooperative and use the studio as a workshop space, meeting point and platform for public events.

Esther Eppstein invites the artists to stay at the message salon embassy Zürich Nord for a period of eleven weeks. Together with Madame l’Ambassadeur the residents take the pulse of the Zurich and Swiss cultural scene, the neighborhood in the up-and-coming Zurich North district, and the community in the newly built housing coop.
message salon embassy is an artist residency as well as a platform and meeting point for the Zurich art scene, which is gradually moving away from the city center and into the less charted parts of town.
The studio is the workspace and the meeting point, but it also serves as a jumping off point for expeditions. Madame l’Ambassadeur and the artists invite the neighborhood to presentations, artist talks, workshops and communal meals to the artist studio in Zurich Nord. At the end of each residence a new message salon embassy Zine is presented and celebrated with a party.
