“Prosecco Manifesto” is the result of joint research into socially anchored and appropriated female role models. “Prosecco Manifesto” parodies and celebrates clichés and provokes with lustful consumer excess, waste and aggressive female eroticism.
The glamorously trashy artefacts, body parts and beauty products cast in plaster or latex, are presented in the manner of a beauty boutique. Mica, glitter, false appearances, the surface and the fetish of the material are put on display. An allegory to the chic art world does not seem coincidental, the art lures with the promise of high-end quality and the gallery is a boutique that is socialised and celebrated with Prosecco.
In the message salon, on the first floor of Perla-Mode, the artists present a shop installation with products and editions by Yael Wicki, Iselinki, Schönstaub with Veli&Amos, Louisa Gagliardi, Carol May, Damian Fopp, Malin Therese Wik, Ida Marie Hauge, message salon and others.
Zurich-based Yael Wicki and Norwegian Iselinki met during their studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and have since repeatedly realised projects together. “Prosecco Manifesto” is their first joint exhibition in Switzerland.
