The artist Selina Trepp and the musician Dan Bitney are spectralina.
spectralina is video and audio, image and music, played live and mixed live. Dan Bitney, the multi-instrumentalist, plays laptop, drums and any other instrument that comes between his fingers, while Selina Trepp composes video with keyboard and laptop. Image and music are treated equally, their interplay is created in joint sessions.
Selina Trepp, born in Zurich, has exhibited repeatedly at message salon since 1995, most recently at Perla-Mode in June 2007. She has lived and worked in Chicago for twelve years and has shown exhibitions in the USA and Switzerland. Her husband Dan Bitney is a musician, music producer and member of the successful indie band “Tortoise” in Chicago. One of the very first spectralina shows took place at the message salon on Rigiplatz in 2002. Since then, spectralina have performed in numerous museums, galleries and clubs in the USA.
