Zurich artist Kerim Seiler first exhibited at the message salon on Ankerstrasse in 1997. Since then, the artist has worked with excavators, wooden slats and cordless drills in his many exhibitions at national and international venues, creating increasingly bold installations. Kerim Seiler is a friend of the construction site. His passion for building and the impending fate of the green group of houses on Rigiplatz, which are to be demolished in the foreseeable future, along with the message salon art space, have prompted and inspired Kerim Seiler to launch a work of art and intervention that is unlikely to go unnoticed in the neighbourhood.
The installation at Rigiplatz can be easily viewed outside opening hours from the tram (even when it rains) or on foot from the pavement.
“Baustellenromanze mit Tanz und Bier” (Construction site romance with dance and beer) is an artistic contribution to the Città Chiusa action weeks on housing policy and urban development. Demonstration on Saturday, 28 September, 1.30 p.m. at Tessinerplatz, followed by a party at Viereck (Wyssgasse) and Egocity (Bezirksgericht).
