Exhibition of urban sins

Beichtomat part 2, the exhibition

Vernissage Saturday, 21 July, 7pm-2pm
Exhibition open Wednesday 6pm-10pm, Friday and Saturday 3pm-6pm

message salon, Perla-Mode
Langstrasse 84/ Brauerstrasse 37, 9004 Zurich

The confessomat (Beichtomat) in the message salon collected over sixty confessions and photographs of repentance over the course of a week in June. Now, five weeks later, “Interne Mitarbeiter” presents the small and large confessions and the faces of the sinners in a scenic exhibition, whereby it is not clear which confession belongs to which face.

The exhibition in the Perla-Mode leaves the categorisation up to the viewer, possibly confronting them with their own prejudices – and perhaps one or the other acquaintance is also there, which of course makes the question of what one would believe about whom even more interesting. Did the red-haired girl with the innocent look set fire to the cat? Or was it the guy with the moustache who smiles so enigmatically … ?

The “Interne Mitarbeiter” collective was founded in summer 2011 and now has around twenty members, all young artists from the fields of theatre, music, literature and design.
Active “internal collaborators” with the Beichtomat are currently: Nina Eugster, Barbara Pfyffer, Marie Ulbricht, Jeanne Werner, Alireza Bayram, Victor Moser, Eva Rottmann, Klara Manzel and Paola Caputo.
