The young Zurich artist Isabela Branč presented her first solo exhibition at message salon in 2002. Since then, Isabela Branč has continued to attract attention with her challenging works and was awarded a prize at this year’s Swiss Art Award by the Federal Office of Culture.
In her new exhibition, Isabela Branč presents a series of models and sketches for works that have not been realised. The artist works with video, audio, drawing, sculpture and language. Her installation at the message salon consists of fragments, each of which strives for complexity in terms of content and form.
Visitors to the exhibition are confronted with a final question, finding themselves in an uncomfortable situation, in a dilemma that demands a decision. With reduced, minimal means and few signs, the artist leads viewers to the necessity of differentiation.
