In his paintings and texts, Urs Lehmann explores themes such as evolution, biology and genetics, nature and artificiality. The artist’s new works, created using digital painting techniques, draw on fresh impressions and research gathered during a trip to the oldest museum of biodiversity in Borneo. Using a sensor pen and digital drawing board, Urs Lehmann draws and paints directly into virtual space. The digital originals find their way from the computer and screen into the analogue world via photo prints and projections. In his current exhibition at the message salon, the artist appears for the first time under the term “biopop.”, which he himself invented.
At the opening, biopop. will read his own texts, accompanied musically by biep-pop aka Stini Arn. Mauro Arnold will be the guest performer on guitar at the closing event.
