The Zurich-based artist and photographer Ruth Erdt is exhibiting a new series of photographs that refer to her earlier work. Since the 1980s, the artist has been portraying her immediate surroundings, family and friends.
For the current exhibition at the message salon, Ruth Erdt once again invited her models in front of the camera. The photographs, including self-portraits and portraits of new people in the artist’s life, were taken at her home in Schwamendingen and also in the rooms of the message salon on Rigiplatz. Ruth Erdt now uses a digital camera, and the images are printed as laser prints. Photographic techniques are changing, and so are people’s lives, faces and relationships.
