At the invitation of message salon embassy, the Russian micro-collective Gorod Ustinov has temporarily relocated from Izhevsk to Zurich, to the studio of the 25hours Hotel on Langstrasse. During their encounters with Zurich artists in the studio or out and about in the scene, Gorod Ustinov have shared and discussed the idea of the museum as a place of exchange and personal experience.
The encounters in the Zurich art scene and the exhibition “Erde der Langstrasse” in the shop windows on Sihlhallenstrasse are part of extensive research for Gorod Ustinov’s first institutional exhibition, which is currently in preparation and will open this autumn at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Perm, Russia.
“Erde der Langstrasse” is a kind of preview on a small scale, an exposition and an attempt at the presentation and action of an idea that is constantly expanding and creating new references. For the inauguration of the exhibition in the shop windows of the Diele, an installation of found and manufactured artefacts, Gorod Ustinov offer the public on Langstrasse the opportunity to participate in and expand the exhibition on site.
