The young Zurich artist Gregory Polony turns the exhibition space inside out. While the message salon art space remains empty, the installation ‘How to’ is visible from the street on the façade of the Perla-Mode building for the duration of the eexhibition.
The art world has its own specific paraphernalia and employs certain tricks and methods, to hold together or fasten artistic or technical installations in a very practical way. Adhesive tape, tensioning straps or battery screws fix the artworks, which are usually only temporarily installed in the exhibition space. In his site-specific work “How to”, created especially for the exhibition at Perla-Mode, Gregory Polony focuses on the methods of installation in the art space. The white plinth stands for the epitome of the white cube. “How to” plays with the codes of the art world and directs the viewer’s gaze to the street as the permanent exhibition space, which is full of unintended sculptures, random installations and signs.
The empty exhibition space message salon will be opened for the vernissage and the finissage.
