Zurich-based artist, graphic designer and musician Alain Kupper, aka Karla Rockmaster. K., presents new photo montages in his current exhibition, using material from the world of the internet, pop culture and news. The digitally manipulated images show the artist and his family as icons of pop culture or on a mission to space. He dedicates his reference to the artist’s circle of friends and their locations in the city of Zurich. “I prefer music” is also an ironic reckoning with the art world and the advertising industry, in whose circles the artist earns his living. For Karla Rockmaster K., music and making music with friends is the best version of the arts.
At the opening of the exhibition in the message salon, Karla Rockmaster K. and his band, consisting of individuals from Zurich’s music and art scene, will perform live for the first time the music that appears on the limited edition EP vinyl record “Love Is Stronger Than Thunder”, which will also be presented in the exhibition. Live Karla Rockmaster K. & Kay-Zee (Drumboy & Bassboy), Valentin Hindermann, Andy Canyon (Andreas Dobler).
