Musician Stini Arn and artist Ehfa Hiltbrunner present their first joint exhibition at message salon. The interior of the Perla-Mode house becomes a walk-in organism, with animal creatures, electrical cables, rampant plants and mysterious sounds spread across three floors of a jungle.
In the basement of the house, the underbelly of the jungle world, lurks a morbid, technoid forest crypt, sounded by an acoustic image of the Langstrasse entertainment mile above ground. The torso, on the ground floor of Perla-Mode, breathes lush life. Plants thrive in the light, they grow real or artificial, entwining creatures made of fur, plastic, plush and animal skin. Sound objects and electronic sound devices surprise the jungle travellers from ambush. Nature and artificiality, animals and human civilisation meet in a fantastic paradise of horror.
In the head of the jungle, on the first floor of Perla Mode, the two artists show things collected in suitcases. Material, sounds and travel images are categorised, spread out, stowed away, sorted and newly linked, similar to the function of the human brain.
The two artists will play their first joint concert at the finissage. Stini Arn presents “Koffertechnik” – a travelling suitcase converted into an electronic sound instrument. Ehfa Hiltbrunner accompanies her on her belly synthesiser.
