In February 2007, Lucerne artist Davix presented his solo exhibition “Auto Reverse” at the message salon on three floors of Perla-Mode. In addition to paintings, lithographs, and a video installation, Davix showed the projection “Les Camions de Paris,” featuring over 430 photographs in the form of a slide show.
During a lengthy stay at the Cité des Arts International in Paris, painter Davix noticed the numerous delivery trucks cruising around or parked in the city, sprayed with graffiti, signed, or painted. Initially conceived as research for painting, the hunt for graffiti trucks increasingly developed into a work in its own right. The photographs reveal the painter’s attentive and fascinated view of the mobile paintings in the urban space.
The publication “Les Camions des Paris” brings together a selection of full-page photographs in a consistently designed artist’s booklet.
Also available at the book launch: the exclusive artist’s edition “Les Camions des Paris” as a CD-ROM with 999 photographs, packaged in a uniquely spray-painted cardboard cover (in a resolution of 72 dpi, also usable as a screensaver), as well as an original inkjet print.
