“The green in the title of the event refers to Walt Whitman’s blades of grass, in which he compares people to blades of grass growing in all directions, each blade completely different in the green expanse, striving towards the sun, trembling in the wind and soaked by the rain. There is no formula, no two genders, just a space without privileges and hierarchy and domination.”
“The exhibition does not claim to open up a specific discursive field, to set up manifestos or to tear them down. It offers a platform for polyphonic, queer-transgressive voices beyond gender categories, an imaginary, utopian, green space beyond bloody mass spectacles, a series of imaginary relationships to dominant culture without reflecting images of mass cultural discourses. The exhibition encourages a journey to ourselves into an imagined real space in which we are not forced to ape the role behaviour, stereotypes or gestures of dominant culture. A space in which we can live out our desire to be ourselves, beyond all exoticisation, all projections and victim attitudes. Because what makes us ourselves is the social context, dominated by the values of this society. What makes us a certain type of person in a given social, economic and political environment?”
