“This Side Up” is a video work by performer Alexandra Bachzetsis and graphic designer Julia Born. The video was created as a contribution to the exhibition “Forms of Inquiry. The Architecture of Critical Graphic Design,” which is currently on display in London.
A poster designed by Julia Born serves as instruction and starting point for Alexandra Bachzetsis’ performative implementation. In “This Side Up,” the two artists explore the possibilities and limitations of language used to describe movement in space. “This Side Up” is a continuation of the joint work “Secret Instructions,” which Alexandra Bachzetsis and Julia Born presented at the Gessnerallee in Zurich in 2005.
