For her exhibition “Transit Arena – In the Same Boat”, artist Isabela Branč has developed a concept consisting of several acts. Temporary interventions take place side by side and one after the other at Perla-Mode, reacting to each other or merging into one another. The exhibition space will contain the remnants of various situations and objects that refer to actions that have been performed. Another part of the exhibition will take place on the internet on Isabela Branč’s “Transit Arena Blog”. The blog will feature texts on the exhibition concept and other texts by the artist. Visitors are invited to participate by posting comments on the blog.

In the shop window of Perla-Mode on Langstrasse, the artist welcomes visitors under the names of her alter egos: Isabela Branč and Jelisaveta Abramovic.

My name is Jelisaveta Abramovic.
1. I am 21 years old and come from Yugoslavia.
2. Where exactly is unimportant, because you usually get things mixed up, but I can say this much: there is a black mountain there.
3. I was allowed to enter the country to show some of my artworks in this exhibition.
4. It is an honour for me to be able to exhibit here.
5. I have also been asked to report that the situation in our country has stabilised, given the circumstances, which is why we are now following developments in your country with curiosity and great concern.
6. I am particularly pleased to be able to present my work to people of different nationalities in Langstrasse.
7. I am especially happy to find Turks here, as I can send friendly greetings from the black mountain.
Welcome to Transit Arena
