Give art as a Christmas gift! The message salon shop on tranquil Rigiplatz offers a small but exquisite selection of products by Zurich artists. Coffee and cookies are available, and on Sunday there will be a Christmas performance in the cosy cottage.
Artists Bella Angora (Austria) and Christian Falsnaes (Denmark) are currently living in Appenzellerland as guests of the Schlesinger Art Scholarship. The two performers were inspired by the magical beauty of the Appenzell landscape to create a warm, white and soft dwarf performance. “Feel” is a snowy, dwarf-twisted and surreal fairy tale. Soft, white and wacky.
Feel
“My heart is so pure, I’m not small, and I never want to be sad. One dwarf and then another. Two dwarf lives. A dwarf world. Surreal and soft. Then again, nervous hyperventilation due to dangerous self-glorification. A white forest glows in the light of many moons. In the realm of dwarves, fantasy is almost dictatorial, romance is the stuff you spread on your bread. Mr Dwarf and Mrs Dwarf sing, dance, and let essential life experiences simmer in a pressure cooker. In a fairy-tale world, there is always a happy ending. In a fairy-tale world, every day is like Christmas. Or not.”
