Swiss-American artist Selina Trepp presents the two-channel video installation “Werther”, 2007.
A close-up shows the expressive face of young rock musician Emmett Kelly as he plays the guitar with intense concentration, making faces or closing his eyes. The instrument remains invisible and the video is silent, without sound. The second projection shows a video loop with a spotlight, bubble machine and smoke machine. Bubbles, smoke and light create a magical, playful atmosphere that seems to connect with the expression on the young man’s face.
